Day 1AIRPORT / NEGOMBO

Upon arrival welcome and assistance by our representative and transfer to Negombo (20 min drive) check into hotel in Negombo and leisure at Negombo beach after flying to Sri Lanka

Negombo – A characteristic fishing town 6Kms from the International airport, Negombo has a fascinating and picturesque beach

hfront. The town has several buildings dating back to the Dutch & Portuguese Colonial days. Also client may enjoy some nice sea foods lobsters, crabs, prawns and etc.

Day 2NEGOMBO / HABARANA

After breakfast leave for Habarana (04 hrs drive) through lush tropical country side en route visit Pinnawala elephant orphanage (01 hrs spend) this orphanage is situated in Rambukkana northwest of the town in Kegalla. It was established 1975 by the Sri Lanka wildlife department, this 24 acres large elephant orphanage is a also breeding for elephants the first elephant baby was born in 1984 and it has the greatest herd of elephants in captivity in the world,  

Thereafter proceed to Hotel afternoon Jeep safari in Minneriya National Park the 8890 hectares of MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK is an ideal eco tourism location in Sri Lanka. The park consists of mixed evergreen forest and scrub areas and is home to Sri Lanka’s favorites such as sambar deer, leopards and elephants. (25min from Habarana)

Day 3HABARANA / SIGIRIYA / POLONNARUWA / HABARANA

After breakfast leave for Sigiriya (30min drive) climb Sigiriya rock fortress, the Lion Rock Citadel, Sigiriya was the Royal Citadel of King Kasayapa who ruled in The 05th Century A.D. Moats, Terrace Gardens, water Gardens, Fountain Garden Boulder Gardens & Stone Stairways and the beautiful ancient frescos of heavenly maidens in a pocket of the rock, on the top of rock are ruins of the palace & two intact man – made pools of water

Thereafter proceed to Polonnaruwa (01 ½ hrs drive) The ancient city of Polonnaruwa rose to fame as the new capita after decline of Anuradhapura (11th – 13th Century) Lunch at local restaurant in Polonnaruwa after lunch sightseeing in Polonnaruwa Its period of greatness was from tenth of 12th Centuries AD. The entire landscape of the region is punctuated by huge man – made reservoirs, veritable inland seas, the most famous of which is the Prakrama Samudra or the Sea of Parakrama, larger in size than the Colombo harbor.

Day 4HABARANA / ANURADHAPURA / MIHINTALE / HABARANA

After breakfast leave for Anuradhapura (01 – 01 ½ hrs drive) the first Sri Lankan ancient capital and center of the island Buddhist civilization Shrines dating back to the 03rd Century are found in this buried city with its pleasure gardens, finely executed stone baths and ponds and a superb irrigation system of reservoirs and canals, Impressive white ‘ Dagabas ‘ are embellished with handsome stone carvings and sculpture (04 – 08 hrs spend)

Anuradhapura a major pilgrimage place has oldest documented tree dating over 2000 years, significant and revered as the sacred Bodhi Tree or Sri Maha Bodhi under which the Buddha attained enlightenment Lunch at Palm Garden hotel or good local restaurant.

Thereafter drive to Mihintale (20 min drive) Mihintale 12km east of the Anuradhapura where The Close Encounter between the Supremely Enlightened Arahath Mahinda & King Devanampiya Tissa the famous Deer Hunter took place & the Aryan Sinhalese civilization took flight to still superior civilization by gentle sway of Buddhism. It is another rock 1000 feet in height, one of the peaks of mountainous range.

Culturally, Mihintale is one of the Solosmasthana (Sinhala: sixteen sacred sites) of Sri Lanka: it is the cradle of Sinhalese Buddhist Civilization. Historically and archeologically, Mihintale is a site of great importance; geographically Mihintale is a mountain range consisting three main hills called Ambastala (Sinhala: Plateau of the Mango), Rajagiri (Sinhala: mountain of the kings) and Anaikutti (Mountain of the Elephant).

Day 5HABARANA / DAMBULLA / KANDY

After breakfast leave for Kandy (02 hrs drive) en route visit Dambulla cave Temple (01 – 02 hrs spend)   Dambulla is a magnificent rock temple consists of 5 caves, on a hill 340 m high, containing 150 serene statues of Buddha, numerous carvings & murals. The fascinating & memorable site was founded by King Valagambahu during the 1st century BC in gratitude for the shelter he found in the caves during an invasion by marauding Dravidians from southern India

Thereafter proceed to Spice Garden Matale which grows spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication. Spices of Sri Lanka attracted the early sea-faring merchants who made the long voyages to purchase this precious merchandise

Reach to Kandy and lunch at Local restaurant in Kandy afternoon sightseeing in Kandy visit Upper Lake drive, stopping at market square and walk around bazaars and markets visit Anglican Cathedral and Hindu Temple visit sacred Tooth relic Temple where enshrined the Buddha’s Tooth relic.

Day 6KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA

After breakfast proceed to Peradeniya botanical Garden (01 – 02 hrs spend) were originally conceived in 1371 as the queen’s pleasure garden, later becoming the residence of a Kandyan king the 60 hector park was were converted into a botanical garden with extensive well kept lawns, pavilions an orchid house with an outstanding collection, an Octagon conservatory fernery bank of bamboo and numerous flower bed with cannas.

Thereafter leave for Nuwara Eliya (02 hrs drive) the famous hill station 6128 Feet above from Sea level in a splendid landscape. The city pretends to be particularly well kept and neat and the always green grass gives to the locality an aspect of ‘’ colonial British Style ” Nuwara eliya was built entirely during the 19th Century and its architecture mimics that of an English Country town, with red brick walls, country house like hill club and mock – Tudor half timbering.

Day 7HORTON PLAN

Early morning packet breakfast from hotel leave for Horton plan (02 hrs drive)

Horton plan National park to reach the escarpment before the mist descends clouding the panoramic view. The Horton Plains are located in the highest plateau of Sri Lanka at an elevation of 7,200 feet above sea level. The highlight of the Plains is the terrific escarpment, The World’s End, 3kms working trail from Horton plain, which drops vertically for about 700m. On a very clear day, one could view the east horizon too. En route you could visit bakes falls

Day 9GALLE SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast sightseeing in Galle – An ancient city is now a modern and buzzing town though the Dutch fortress remains as it was during the Dutch period. Galle was the most important sea port at the crossroads of Far East & Middle East since the days of the Romans. The Fortress is one of the best preserved in the Island. The oldest Protestant church in the country called the ‘’ Groote Kirk ’’ built by the Dutch among many other buildings, villas, bungalows, mosques located inside the fort fortified with massive ramparts & bastions

Visit Habaraduwa Turtle Farm – was created to protect this endangered species. The eggs are collected and immediately buried in a sandy compound that offers protection from birds, crabs and humans, thanks to some netting. There are 8 varieties of turtle in the world, five of which can be found here: parrot, green, loggerhead, crocodile and leatherback. All turtles lay 105 eggs six times a year and the incubation period lasts 48 days. The turtles are kept for a 3-day period to let their navel close and prevent them from being eaten by fishes and crabs.
